I’d like to create a feature banner for specific categories—like what you’ve done on Anspress.io but without the search field on top. Is this doable?

Image per category would be awesome, you could make custom themes like reddit… huge value

Yes can be done. Have a look at category icon code.

I saw the option, but I don’t know how to add the code. Is it a shortcode?

I mean study the category image code and then you can easily add featured image.

Sorry. I didn’t explain that well. I’m not interested in changing the category icons. I’m wondering if a category can have a large feature image that is unique to that category. For example, it would replace the image of the computer screen with the question title that’s on every page.
