How do I update the extension Question Label without deleting the extension first and losing all my customizations?

Hi!

I wanted to update my Question Labels 1.2 to 1.3, but it’s not possible as long, as the question-label directory still exists on the server. In order to install the update, I’d have to delete the extension first and lose all my settings / customizations, etc.

Could you point me in the right direction, how to do that, without deleting everything first?

Use FTP, SFTP or SSH to copy over the new Questions Labels plugin over the old one and it will update the folder content, so you have the new plugin version, but the old settings in the database will still be there.

No, you’ll not loose any setting. By default AnsPress and its extension never try to update settings by itself.

After update just save anspress option so that AnsPress can add default value if any value found to be missing or empty.
