how to upgrade from askbug 1 to askbug 3.0.5 automatically
hello
we bought askbug 3.0.5 licence and also we have version 1 of this theme now with our customizations we want to upgrade theme to 3.0.5 automatically through wordpress update theme . but we give an error that the package for auto update doesnt exist .
at the the end we want to upgrade this theme without problem and although keep our css changes. please help .

Since release of AnsPress 4.x, I have disabled automatic AskBug update for old version sites. Once you update AnsPress, you’ll be able to update theme automatically.
Also make sure to keep your changes in child-theme instead of main theme.
After updating AnsPress, follow this steps:
Manually download AskBug 3.x from your account at https://anspress.io/orders/
Now re-add AnsPress menu items and check AnsPress base page is okay in options. Also check required addons are enabled in AnsPress Options -> addons
This issue appears, simple because Askbug is not published to the wordpress theme repository (because it’s not free). So automatic update will not work.
The right way to update is, to
- Login to your webspace via ftp (e.g by using filezilla)
- Go to your wordpress installation folder and then to /wp-content/themes/askbug
- Delete all the content within this folder
- Upload all the files from 3.0.5 into this folder
Also be aware, that if you made any customization to the theme without using a child theme, all changes will be gone after the update.
thank you for your response . after upgrade to anspress 4 . the askbug theme will show notification but when we click to update the askbug wordpress give an error about “cannot find the update package” should we update theme automatically in other way ?
and we bought licence but after update to anspress 4 and askbug 3.0.5 all of the urls doesnt work and show 404 error page. may i ask you to show us a simple way to fix that ?
