Setting basepage as homepage shows blank

But after an hour of combination and testing on another sub blog, I think deselecting homepage template allowed it, if it was already an option of choices for the static homepage.

Just follow the standard WordPress procedure for debug. Enable debug log, disable plugins etc etc. And let us know of any debug error.
