Any way to lock a category so that only Mods/Admins can post there?
We would love to have a category where only Mods or Admins could post to. Our main use would be to have something like a “Known Issues” area where people could still subscribe and comment but it wouldn’t be muddied up by everyone posting something there.

Maybe this could help you :
Lock a post to only admin and moderators then active comments on post.
So they will be able to respond as comments and only your group will see it.
I didn’t tried it it’s just an idea.
That is an interesting idea, but I don’t think it solves our need. Regular users would still be able to post a question in the “Known Issues” category. We also still want everyone to be able to see the questions, just not create new ones in that area.
As a followup: We solved this by just using some JS to manually remove the category from the dropdown on the Ask page. Not the best solution, but it works.
