ANSPRESS_TITLE

Rahul, please google

ANSPRESS_TITLE

and see tones of the problem. It seems to be some problem with the skin (show ANSPRESS_TITLE in the header), sincw with the default skin it doesn’t show. But googling for it, if found many-many sites with that problem, so many skins have it.

Please spend some time to find a workaround.

Thanks

I guess the problem is, that they all used anspress. Anspress creates a new page with “ANPRES_TITLE” as page title and then replaces this title later on. On all found pages, anspress is disabled (because [anspress] is not replaced by the content). So thats the problem.

Yes I agree with joker. Are you using any SEO plugin? try disabling them. and let us know.

No some are left-overs but most are active:

http://zbulo.org/anspress_title/
http://dish.allrecipes.com/anspress_title/

and tones of others. Please do not downplay this.

I use NO seo plugin. Guys, just Google ANSRESS_TITLE, there are TONES of this problem. Read my initial post, it is a problem of most skins BUT it is impossible to fix all those skins. It it better to have a work-around in Anspress. Rahul proposed to leave the Title Blank and this works 50% since it leaves the Meta Title half (after the | it is blank).

I know ~ I am like a dog with a bone ~ but this is the only thing that’s stopping me launching my site, so if I can help to fix it I would like to try,

At various times I have been seeing ANSPRESS_TITLE and sitename duplication in the title metadata

On the home page everything looks fine…

But on one the Categories AnsPress page, I start to see a problem…

So, as a test, I disconnected the Yoast SEO plugin and looked at the source that was getnerated by 2.3.8

I was very surprised to see that without Yoast there was no problem.

On the homepage its fine and on the AnsPress Categories page, also no problem..

It appears the problem is only present when you use the Yoast SEO plugin.

Over to you Rahul.

I think you are just confused. I don’t use any SEO plugin and the problem is there. Same for others also. All those on the internet dont use any SEO plugin or do they ?

And for your test you use the 2.3.8 version. We are at 2.4 beta 2 and this is broken.

@Cagliostro ~ here’s a support request on the Yoast support forum from 4 months back https://wordpress.org/support/topic/incompatibility-with-anspress?replies=1 and I just did a quick Google trawl of ANSPRESS_TITLE + Yoast and only found 1 item that wasn’t on this site. So, as you say, I am not confused. I think I will go and try the latest “master” which Rahul says has now been fixed.

@Rahul ~ downloaded again and only a quick test so far, but basic problem metadata seems to be fixed now except I see the [Solved] is showing in the metadata, but not the title. I am going to try it with Yoast SEO now.

This latest beta seems to work fine, all Titles show correctly at base page and each individual Question. One problem is that the shortcode [ANSPRESS] is shown still as a Description. I will try to find some way to solve this.

It works absolutely fine here with Yoast SEO and even without forcing Title Rewriting. The only issue I see is the [Solved] metadata problem which is still there. @Cagliostro ~ I don’t see the [ANSPRESS] shortcode. What theme are you using?

There is still a small problem with the CATEGORIES plugin, the Category title is show half (the site title only).

No problem with Categories on AskBug.

I had to manually update tye Categories plugin to 1.4. That fixed the Title problem but the cat plugin doesn’t seem to work right.

@ Cagliostro ~ Come si dice “doesn’t seem to be working right” in italiano?
