Why does shortcode shows up as 404 in user page?
I think this error is making individual user pages show up as 404s as well. Clicking on a user’s reputation all returns a 404.
I am new to wordpress, so perhaps the issue isn’t in anspress and is something else, so any insight would be helpful 🙂
It’s likely that the 404 errors on individual user pages and reputation pages are caused by an issue with WordPress permalinks, missing AnsPress page assignments, or a theme/plugin conflict. AnsPress depends on custom rewrite rules, so when these break, user-related pages often stop loading correctly. The first thing to try is resetting permalinks by going to Settings → Permalinks and clicking Save Changes without modifying anything—this forces WordPress to rebuild its routing structure. You should also check AnsPress → Options → General → Pages to make sure all required AnsPress pages (User, Profile, Reputation, Submit Question, etc.) are properly assigned.
