Have you played Gamma Emerald yet? Any tips for catching rare Pokémon?

Hi everyone,
I just started playing Gamma Emerald and I really like it because it has many interesting changes compared to the original Emerald. However, I have difficulty trying to catch rare Pokémon and I am not sure how to build a reasonable team.
