What! Why is this so complicated….

I spent time typing a question, but before I could post it I was asked to register, which I did, however after the registration process of checking my email and logging in, my question was long gone and I was left on a blank page which advised I did not have sufficient permissions to access the page. So long and short; my original question was never posted because the registration processes (checking my email and being redirected, logging in, being redirected again) was far too complicated. Bummer. Is it possible to allow users to post by simply providing a username and email address?
