It has been 2+ months since Anspress 2 was introduced as alpha version.

What is the current status of the plugin ? When it will be released to public ?

And how do i update my current 1.4 to this beta from github manually ?

Download latest version from here: https://github.com/wp3/anspress/archive/master.zip then unzip and replace in your wp-content/plugins/anspress-question-answer

I was working on profile plugin, which I have pushed last night. You can try this too:

You can use this plugin with or without AnsPress, try in both way. let me know.
Today I am back to AnsPress again.

Ok, but as i originally asked what is the current status of Anspress ? When it will be released ?

You can check current commit, its almost stable, if users does not report any major issue this will be marked as stable. So kindly try it and let me know.
