No “Description” box to enter text in font end.
I think its due to your theme, due to your theme CSS AnsPress description field is hidden. Please check CSS.
Try beta version https://github.com/anspress/anspress/releases/tag/3.0.0-beta.1 or share temporary user access credentials so that I can test.

By the way, in terms of user feedback, I think 3.0.0 beta broke my ability to edit menus – ps this was fixed when I went back to the previous version.
