That mean, response is not valid JSON. Some PHP debug message has been delivered with ajax response. Check the response data of ajax and you’ll see some PHP error.

Ok – now I’m getting the error message (something went wrong on the server side). Commenting on a post works flawlessly, but asking a new question brings up the error message.

@Rahul, suggestion, can have some error checking to improve this. if backend return non-200 status, then show error message, stop spinner, instead of spinner hanging there.
