Insert/add link button does not work
The Insert/edit link button does not work. The selected text gets converted into a link but it has a href of _wp_link_placeholder and there is no way to edit that. How to fix that Using the latest Anspress

This issue has been there for the last 4 Anspress versions. Also there are no errors in the browser console. Any ideas what might be going wrong?
Just follow the std WP debug procedure. Enable debug to a log, switch to default theme, disable all plugins and see if that works. Then enable one by one the plugins and see any conflict.
I have to correct my self. It works for WP 4.4.
Trying to do so in WP 4.6 it doesn’t work at.
So it is a problem between WP 4.5 / 4.6 and Anspress. And if i remember correctly Rahul has suggested a plugin for that, as a temp fix.
I quote from Rahul:

I can’t find the plugin in the plugin repository. Can you provide a link?

This issue is happening due to WP new inline link feature. For some reason inline link is not working in frontend editors. Hoping to get this solved soon.
@rahularyan any temporary fix? The plugin suggested advanced wplink doesn’t solve the problem
