Maybe a plugin to provide custom post types with template options like pages.

Fixed by setting template for the base page to full. It doesn’t take the template of a page anspress is shortcoded on if that page is not set as the base.

Note: since 3.0, AnsPress looks for anspress.php file in Wp theme for base page template and fallback to page template.
