Adding and Removing Fields to User Profiles

Hello,

I would like to customize further by adding and removing fields to users profiles. Is it possible to do so? If so How do I go about doing it? I am not a programmer so the easiest way possible would be much appreciated.

In addition is it possible to provide different fields for different profiles, thus making each profile look markedly different?
