How to Migrate Questions and Answers From Old Q AND A Plugin
I still have an outdated plugin from WPMDEV on my site called QANDA. After uploading ANSPRESS I was pleased to see all the questions and answers migrated in from the old plugin, however, when the questions are clicked I’m taken to a blank page. When I attempt to edit the question I can see all of the script, but nothing when just clicking to view it from the site.
I’ve already deactivated to old plugin, but can’t get this new plugin to work properly. I don’t want to delete my old plugin questions and answers. Just figured I would remove their page from the menu.
It sounds like the migration itself worked, since the questions and answers are showing up in the new plugin, but there may be an issue with how the imported question pages are being rendered. I would avoid deleting or modifying the old QANDA data until you have a reliable backup, especially if those questions and answers are important.
Since you can see the content when editing but get a blank page when viewing it, I’d also check for JavaScript or PHP errors and any conflicts with your theme or other active plugins. Removing the old QANDA page from the menu should be fine as a temporary step, but it’s probably better to identify the rendering issue first. Hopefully someone familiar with AnsPress can point you toward the correct migration or permalink settings.
