Compatibility Issue Between AnsPress and PolyLang Plugins
Hello,
I have installed the AnsPress plugin on my WordPress site and encountered an issue with the PolyLang plugin. When I click on the name of any topic or category in the AnsPress section, I get the “Oops! That page can’t be found” error. Interestingly, this problem disappears when I deactivate PolyLang. However, deactivating PolyLang permanently is not an option for me as my site is multilingual.
You can see this issue on the following links:
Try clicking on any test topic or category.
Also, it’s important to note that I have activated AnsPress in PolyLang using the ‘Custom post types and Taxonomies’ option. I am attaching a screenshot of this configuration.

Does anyone have an idea on how to resolve this issue? Is there a specific configuration or compatibility issue between AnsPress and PolyLang that needs to be addressed?
Thank you in advance for any help and advice.
To resolve the “Oops! That page can’t be found” error in AnsPress while using PolyLang, ensure that you have correctly configured the custom post types and taxonomies in PolyLang. Additionally, check your permalink settings and try saving Melon Playground them again. Compatibility issues may arise, so consider reaching out to the plugin support for further assistance.
According to a post on the AnsPress support forum (December 2023), when Polylang is active, clicking a topic or category link often results in a 404 error. Disabling Polylang resolves it, which highlights a sharp conflict with multilingual permalink generation. Another earlier report (September 2021) notes that AnsPress doesn’t work properly when Polylang hides the default language code in URLs. The plugin was expected to receive a fix for this issue but it’s unclear if it’s been implemented.
