Hi, thansk for the reply… I know the search form works everywhere else, but for some reason doesn’t work on mine! I’m using version 3.0.7. How do I enable debug.log?
Proof on this forum : “viagra cock dick poker porn”. See ? Posted it like a charm. And I’m sure you are using measures to prevent this, so it does concern you as well you see
Same, I tried registering on my own website and posted an answer there, with “bad words”, and it got validated like a charm (it is set up on auto validation and to be honest I cannot afford to moderate all the publications before publication since there are too many). I use Akismet and WP-SHIELD, which normally filter spam out properly, but in this case, they don’t. Anspress is using a custom post type, so that cannot be the explanation, right ? Thanks for your time 🙂
Hello George, I agree with our contributor Cagliostro, if you have waited this long than wait for few more days for AnsPress 4.0. Also there is not any PHP version 6 (I think GoDaddy mean 5.6?). WordPress started suggesting PHP 7 and I will recommend it as well. As AnsPress 4.0 will work with above PHP 5.5 and PHP 7.
Ok, the previous goDaddy tech support made a mistake php 5.6 isn’t out until Dec. 15th. The tech support guy who correct the previous support person said WP on their blog says 5.3 is the minimum php version and 6.0 is goDaddy’s target but nobody in their right mind would jump to 7.0. Looking ahead, when goDaddy upgrades to 5.6, will I be safe to upgrade Anspress from 2.4.8 to 3.7 and/or to 4.0? Thank you. George
In any case Anspress works fine with PHP 5.5, as posted here (or is it 5.6 ?): https://anspress.io/docs/ As for the upgrade, if you can wait a few weeks more, it would say go for 4 to avoid 2 updates (backups etc etc). Personally i use 3.0.7 and works well (a few things do not but … ok, all versions have some problems, i learned to ignore them). Remember to BACKUP everything first in case something goes wrong.
Thank you Cagliostro. I’ll bring up the php 7 issue with Godaddy and get their roadmap. On the phone with them now. So, where does that leave me re upgrading Anspress to 3.7 or 4.0 from current 2.4.8? Or do I need an intermediate upgrade step? I think php 5.5 is the minimum for Anspress 3.0 or higher. George
Well normally it should appear automatically on the page without you refreshing it (AJAX). Have you tried with another browser ? (Maybe you have deactivated some javascript on yours ?)
Hey just did, but it adds my domain address before the link, weirdly. Meaning a link to http://www.example.com/ becomes http://myanspresswebsite.com/%22http://www.example.com/ How to fix this ?
Following on the conversation here : I need, and want this included in Anspress Core as well. Absolutely mandatory for SEO purposes (and btw as a SEO expert, I can tell you that bots follow nofollow links, BUT they won’t penalize you if you link to dodgy websites (-> or if spammers do, on your website) as long as you protect yourself by nofollowing them. Thank you !
