What is the exact problem? AnsPress 2 does not have it's own register-functionality anymore (as 1.4.x). It uses the standard login/register framework of WordPress.

I think "anspress-functions.php" is no longer part of the code base. Try deleting *everything* in the anspress-question-answer and then get the latest version from GitHub.
