Yes it is made like this, first you have to install “Profile for AnsPress” extension to get anspress profile. Working on this extension.
I don’t think there is a role-system in place in AnsPress (correct me if I’m wrong) but there are badges you can assign. About the user profile: As Rahul mentioned users can go to http://YOUR_DOMAIN/ANSPRESS_BASE_PAGE/user/USERNAME and will normally see a “Edit Profile” link on that page. They should be able to do what they need on that page.
You can always see a user profile by visiting this link http://YOUR_DOMAIN/ANSPRESS_BASE_PAGE/user/USERNAME

As I know there are lots of plugin which can be used to edit user capabilities, simply use them to edit user capabilities of AnsPress. I am planning to make an extension for customizing user role but its not in priority list.
hey, thanks to your reply i was able to move the categories into the correct position on my page. my goal for moving them here is to customise the look so the categories are clickable images instead of text in a bullet-point list. if i should not be editing the core plugin files can you tell me how i can achieve this? cheers EDIT: anyone able to help here? thanks in advance
