Question

Hi, I fell in love with this immediately and I am tinkering like crazy in these first 24 hours. The nonprofit I’m helping out is using Ultimate Member as their user management, and I used the script you provided to disable the AnsPress user profile, but now when I click the Avatars or Usernames, it takes me to a 404 page because it is now just adding the UserID to the current URL ex. http://example.com/questions/question/question-title/user1

Where can I change the URL to point to the default User Profile like: http://example.com/user/user1

When I go to my AnswPress page, I see that when I read conversations people start on my forum, their avatar shows. Why? How to completely remove showing avatar at all? It’s way too big to show an avatar and I can’t seem to make the avatars really small.

The menu bar on the user pages is not behaving like it used to. I’m not sure if it’s related to the recent update or not.

When I’m signed in, any link I click in another user’s profile is directed to my page. For example, if I’m signed in as User1 and I visit User2’s profile, any link I click on User2’s profile will send me to my User1 profile.

If a user is not logged in, any link clicked on a user’s page adds #AnonymousUser to the url and the link does not work.

I did not change any AnsPress settings, so I’m not sure why it’s behaving like this now. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hi,

I just started using this plugin, its gret but i do have a few questions

1) I used the [anspress] shortcode inside a individual page and got what i wanted, but when i click on ask a question it opens a completely new page with no theme info used by me etc, how can i display the ask a question form inside a particular page ?

2) Also how to mark a question as private ?

3) Can you please tell me where are all the available shortcodes for the plugin, etc

I want to import a huge database of around 30,000 questions and answers.

I have been trying with following code

But, it’s causing meta problems (like even after providing user-id activity log says Anonymous answered…, Question/Answers count and reputation points are not updated).

Also I have read your answer on the question Importing from Django

I tried with merging the two, but even that produces some bugs (e.g. questions/answers count, reputation points etc, activity line).

Also the biggest problem I am facing right now, is to import such a large database. It appears to be taking forever to import 30,000 questions, the actual number of queries to be run would be a lot higher, I think (first, 30k questions, then 30k answers, and their meta-entries) . I have even increased my localhost timeout.

Can you please suggest me –

1. How should I modify this code or what would be the correct code to import all questions and answers from a linear database (questions and answers are in the same row)?

2. What can be done to increase import speed?

Hi Rahul,

Would it be possible to enable Anspress to embed websites the same way videos are embedded?

An alternative option would be for an html editor in the ask question window? Perhaps also in the give answer window too?

How much would those options cost?
