I wonder how to create with the widget top users included in WordPress, a top users category where solely the profile picture of some users are displayed ? Just like what you did in the template of your website (i talk about the pictures in the homepage)!

In the best case scenario everybody should register and be active part of growing community. It is just better for a q&a owner, but we all know, that the world does not work like that.

First of all anonymous user is just wrong name, it has a negative ring to it and nothing to do with anonymity. It is more like Guest posting, without all that registration crap. That way You can add one question (if You want to add just one), wait for answer and forget about it afterwords.

Now, as a Guest You don’t even receive mail about new answer to Your question, You cannot comment, up-vote or follow, to know if there is some activity etc.

There are many people who do not want to register and will give up from any contribution if they have no other way to participate.

So, I think, we need a better way for handling guest users.

  1. Guest comments.
  2. Voting (guest voting with some kind of IP and session/cookies protection to ensure no abuse).
  3. Following.
  4. Better handling of an guest adding questions and answers (name, mail, support for gravatars).
  5. Mail notifications for guest.
  6. Some simple moderation and antispam solution for guest.

Adding required mail field and gravatars is fairly simple, I done it in my Anspress 3.0.7. Same case with comments, as they are based on a WP Comment System. So maybe it is time to add this functions to the Anspress 4.x?

I’ve installed AnsPress and it’s working so far, but I have issues with the jquery dropdowns. I can’t click on the “more actions” item to edit the questions. Same happens on the “user profile dropdown” in my AnsPress navigation.

Error in console is:

ReferenceError: apFunctions is not defined (…./anspress-theme.min.js:14:1668)

How can I fix this jquery conflict?

Hi, is there any guide on how the Anchors work to make sure that reputation points work with other plug ins, like BuddyPress, BBpress or others?

When I install BuddyPress, and I set up Anspress to use BuddyPress Profile,  In the reputational tab, only shows the reputation points as the login user.

So if I go to another profile(other user), and I click to see his reputation points, only show mine.

This is a bug, that do not happen when I set up Anspress to AnsPress Profile.

Does anyone has a solution for this?

I bought askbug theme for anspress, single site licence. So my question is can I use this theme in localhost server and then move to real domain? As it is a single site licence, will it create issue on live site?

Everything needed is accessible in front-end (profile, post question, post answer, modify these…). By the way this website is not sending me to the admin panel after connexion nor to ask this question.

So I wonder why mine is doing it and if I have done anything wrong in the settings.

Hi,

I am working on WordPress 4.7 with AP 3.0.7

I was really happy customizing AP and my website until I tried the workflow with a subscriber profile (role by default in my wp)… and I got this notice msg in the admin (under each menu item):

Notice: Undefined offset: 2 in … wp-admin/includes/plugin.php on line 1550 

(Please note that this this msg didnt show up when I was logged in as an administrator.)

Consequently, I desactivated and I reactivated all plugins and got back to twentyfourteen as theme. I reactivated one by one and then Askbug… The notice seems to come from Anspress core plugin, and is activated until the author role (not for Editor, nor for Admin).

I hope this will be settled with the new update.

I see two ways two solve it on my side: Change role by default (contributor>editor) or prevent the contributors to get in admin panel… but I will look for an answer and eventually post a new question for this.

can I also add normal post entries with comments or only questions and answers in your Askbug theme? Is the theme that you are using here Askbug?
